The Southern Regional MESA Day Competition is only for students invited to attend (eg. 1st place performance/overall winners at the prelim level) and their teachers/advisors. MESA Day is not a public event. Only qualified students, school staff and approved chaperones should come.
All attendees (not affiliated with the UCR center) will need to complete liability and release forms to come to campus. Both teachers/chaperones and students must complete these forms. The form is attached below:

Some event/competition notes to consider:
NEDC COMPETITION: Technical Interviews will be limited to 10 minutes max. A short 2 minute time for questions will then follow. Prototype pitch presentations will last a maximum of 5 minutes, per the rules. Lastly, teams will not need to bring physical poster boards with them. Teams are allowed to reference their electronic poster board during their technical interview
CODING SOLUTIONS/MATH ESCAPE: These competitions will be contested in person at MESA Day. Teams are responsible for bringing their own devices (chromebooks, laptops) for these competitions. The campus provides public wi-fi (through UCR_GUEST) for teams to use to log-in to the competition platforms. Competitions will be monitored, and only registered students should compete in these events.
HIGHLANDER DAY: The campus is hosting its largest "yield" (e.g. admitted students and their families are invited to campus) event of the year on the same day as Regional MESA Day. There will be many additional people on campus! Make sure to wear your provided shirts, and be aware of all your guests and attendees!
This also means that all of our colleges and departments will be hosting interactive tables and exhibits as part of the Highlander Day festivities. Guests are encouraged to walk towards the Belltower (in the center of campus) to experience those activities. Most campus stores and restaurants (including the bookstore) will also be open.
Picnic Lunch: Guests are welcome to bring a blanket or towel for sitting, as we will be offering lunch in an outdoor, park-like area. We hope the weather is pleasant for our picnic.
