Our MESA Year End 2024 competition will be in person this year and will return the challenges from last year. It will occur on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 9 AM - 3 PM. We are working to again secure the Drop Zone waterpark as the location. Students will be competing in the following competitions:
Cardboard Boat Competition RULES
Water Bottle Rocket Competition RULES
MESA Year End Robotics Competitions
RULES MS/HS Field Diagrams
Additionally, the Boat and Rocket competitions have an ENGINEERING LAB BOOK requirement that will also count into the teams total score. Lab books resemble those required for the MESA Day competitions:
Lab Book Guidelines
Lab Book Template (WORD)
Lab Book Template (PDF)
The event agenda is still being developed.

Please note that the awards ceremony will be held AFTER the competition concludes on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 4 PM.
ADVISORS: To register for the competition, please do so by Friday, May 3, 2024. Lab books can be submitted through this page individually by student teams (see below). You can also email links and folders (in bulk) for you entire class/school to Vanessa. Lab books (boats, rockets) are due on FRIDAY, MAY 10, 2024.
Because we may be using a waterpark exclusively for this event, the Year End Event will not be a public event. Only competitors (in one of the three events) and their teachers/advisors should come to the year end event. No spectators or other attendees can come.
Students should only compete in one challenge at the Year End Competition. All of the challenges will be occurring concurrently (at the same time). We will not make provisions for students who do not follow this directive.
Please note that there will also be limits to the number of teams that will be allowed to compete at the year-end competition. We will, however, allow additional teams to compete upon request, and if there is space for them.
Finally, arbitration will not be offered at our virtual MESA Year End competition. Judges' decisions will be final.
